Troubleshoot Guide: Why Are My Dymo Labels Not Printing?

It can be upsetting to experience printing problems. It is especially true if you’re a business owner or a home user who depends on Dymo 30324 labels or other Dymo labels for effective organizing.  In case you are experiencing the issue that your Dymo labels are not printing even though you are clicking “print” on your PC or Laptop, then you can follow the steps mentioned below. The following steps are applicable to the Dymo labels and Dymo-compatible labels as well.

Let us first understand why it might be happening.

Printer Connectivity Issues: This is one of the most common causes of Dymo labels not printing. Due to a lack of connectivity between the Dymo printer and your computer, the printing does not take place. You can check if there is a problem with the network or a loose cable connection.

Printer drivers: Drivers serve as a link between the operating system of your computer and the label printer. It is possible for corrupted or outdated drivers to block connectivity.

Software Errors: Sometimes, there may be issues with the label printing software or conflicts with other programs that prevent the printing process from starting.

Label Roll and Supply Issues: Empty or improperly loaded label rolls can cause printing errors.

In case you have been trying to print and not even getting an error message, then you can follow the steps given below to solve the problem.

  1. Check if your Dymo printer is powered on and the USB cable is connected to the computer.
  2. Now, go to the Lightspeed Label Printing page and select the Dymo printer you want to use. Be careful not to select a different printer.
  3. Make sure that the printer is connected. Check the printer settings on your computer by following the steps given below:

Mac:

  1. Go to the Apple icon on the menu bar and click on ‘System Preferences’.
  2. Now select  ‘Printers & Scanners’.
  3. Click on the Dymo printer you are using and then click on ‘Open Print Queue’.
  4. If you do not find the printer in the list, disconnect it from your computer and connect it again.
  5. If you see that the printing is paused, click on the play button to continue with the print.

Windows:

  1. Go to start, and type ‘control panel’.
  2. Select the ‘control panel’ and then go to ‘Devices and Printers’ under the ‘Hardware and Sound’ option.
  3. Click on the Dymo printer.
  4. In case the printer is not listed on the page, disconnect the printer from the computer and connect it again.
  5. If you see that the ‘Status’ of the printer is  ‘Offline’, right-click it to start system troubleshooting.
  6. Now double-click on the Dymo printer and see if there is a printing queue.
  7. Click on any of the paused documents you were printing and select ‘Resume’.
  1. Now download and install the latest version of the Dymo Label software.
  2. Check if the software is running properly.
  3. If it is running, you will be able to see the Dymo icon on the menu bar of macOS or on the taskbar in Windows.
  4. If this does not solve the problem, restart your computer.
